About Town : The New Yorker and the World It Made by Ben Yagoda. I don't
have a page number handy, but there is a good index in the back.
Also in this book is the fact that the fiction editors of the New Yorker all
rejected the story Zooey when Salinger submitted it. It took Mr. Shawn to
get it published, with SaI later having to get published the same way.
