Paul Miller wrote some excellent things about "Just Before the War
with the Eskimos" earlier this month.
We have just finished discussing it in my composition class, and I now
wonder aloud what Paul and others might make of the awkward but
delicious link between a chicken sandwich and an easter chick.
Other things the class wanted to resolve included: Why the homosexual
friend, Eric? and Does Ginnie's eagerness to return to the Graff
household have anything to do with a romantic attraction to Franklin?
Finally, I myself had a horrible feeling that if "Seymour" has to
become see-more, then Mrs. Basehoar has to become Mrs. Base Whore.
But I didn't mention it.
