This is semi-related: a friend of mine was telling me about a jazz concert
he was at, a festival of some sort, and he said someone told him to stop
tapping his feet so loudly. Being the way he is, he said something like: "I
started thinking about this person coming from very far away to KILL MY
SOUL". There really is something about some people and having other people
give too much attention to feet amazes me. Of course, after he told me that
I ran to get him a copy of Bananafish.

On to the really related topic: I was reading a part of Seymour today, and I
saw something about feet. While Buddy is talking about Seymours tendancy to
go without sleep for days, he says, "Much loss of sleep apparently affected
just his circulation; his hands and feet got cold," (p. 191) and then the
buisness of "terrible drafts" and Bessie checking to see how many pairs of
socks he was wearing. I thought that was interesting.
