Where is that? I can't find it anywhere. I've always thought of the offering
of the tangerine from Les as an expession of the simplest, truest form of
love. You know what happens when you take part of a tangerine peel and sort
of fold it in half, and that little mist sprays out? That is what I named
tangerineness. And do you know what that is? It is actually love itself,
transformed into something physical. I love tangerines. I give them away as
presents, some days I just bring a whole box of clementines, and give them
to people at school. It is, as far as I'm concerned, the best offering there
is. And there is something about fathers giving them, I think I still
remember being young and having my father give me tangerines, and how
special it all seemed. And now, when my dad brings me some, it almost brings
me to tears. Obviously this is all a little idealized, but let me dream.
