If a person would like to learn the mechanics but finds it very
difficult, that shouldn't stop them from writing. If there is a real
intelligence and creativity behind the words, then they deserve to be
heard. The mechanics can be sorted out afterwards. They will, in any
case, develop the moer the person writes, whereas anyone who is
terrified of making mistakes will either never begin, or will make more
mistakes.

Basically, what I am trying to say is, Becky: welcome to the list.
Sorry that you have inadvertantly started off a grumbling session;
everyone here seems to be making valid points, but it must be a bit
harsh for you coming into it cold. Hope it doesn't put you off for good
(actually, that seems unlikely, you come across as a fighter). :-)

Love, Lucy-Ruth
