For those of you who read aloud (in their head) and long for the correct
pronunciation of uncommon names:
the correct pronunciation Ursinus is 'ir sinus' (the 'ur' is 'ir' as in
'turf'), with the accent on the 'si'. Many pronounce the 'ur' mistakenly
as 'your'.

Humor, it seems, has a sense of fate.
After so many years of playing devil's advocate, of scorning the
Salinger fan club here on the list, of generally being a grumpy young
man about all things Salinger, I've found the most deliciously ironic of
academic plots in which to take root: Ursinus College, PA.
