Will do you have Kennel papers for that claimed pedigree? It's funny but
some engineers do that too, they trace their pedigree to Popov or More or
any other named founding father. So what is Salinger's pedigree? Mine is
through an ad in the back of Rolling Stone Magazine or was it Guns and Ammo?
I can't remember any more.

I studied literary biography with one of the most respected Virginia
Woolf scholars. At NYU, Mitchell Leaska (who studied with Leon
Edel--Henry James's biographer) also professed that reading all of
the books the author was known to read was a biographical key.
Finally, this teacher believed that writing biography of writers was
a matter of uncovering the writer's central myth.
