I am having fun, hopefully with you. If I left this war fighting business
then little men like Stalin and Hitler would eat your heart and what is best
in life would be reduced to Conan's mantra;

Crush your enemies
See them flee before you
Hear the lamentation of their women.

Where would you be without the American Revolution?

Or do you think that survival of the fittest is suspended and man has
evolved into Church mice already. I don't believe in macro evolution
anyway, by the way.

Actually I have a close friend from New York who originally wanted to be a
Jesuit but couldn't reconcile his faith to the Catholic Church after meeting
us New Mexican Heretics, so he pursued a career in the DEA but I talked him
into teaching since he loves history, which he does now on Long Island. So
the professor has his place, its just that many of them have no sense of
proportion, they are over specialized and lose sight of land sometimes. I
have no idea where you stand but my personality tends toward rough
camaraderie, I don't presume you are or are not of this temperament but it
shouldn't really matter in the long run, should it?

Daniel

Daniel, I expected some of the anti-professor crowd on this list
would say something about my last post. I tend to ignore them, but in
your case I'll just offer sympathy for the "pedigree" you have and
encourage you to stop being part of any war making efforts. Why not
leave military life and seek an advanced degree? will
