Jon, You're right. He has given us plenty. Its funny but we expect so
much of our heros these days that we push them past their limits and
into foreign territory, into things for which they are woefully
prepared. We want our basketball ideals to be lifestyle role models and
our musicians to proclaim our social ethos. Why should we want more
than prolific writing from a writer? We all know that Michael Jordan
(God bless his airness) is more recognizable nationally than the
president. Its no secret that many of us seek advice from Michael or
Madonna (not the real one of course) rather than those more appropriate
for the task, like priests and parents and teachers.

JDS is setting the standard for celebrity. He is the consumate
professional, doing only what he knows to do - saying only what he knows
to say. Its is up to us to listen.
