I consider a sycophant to be an obsequious, self-seeking flatterer. One
who prefers to say anything and everything simply to be heard, thereby
making themselves feel more important. A sychophant doesn't neccessarily
require a rich, influential audience. Any audience will do.

A type of person I have, in fact, noticed on this list. (Myself probably
included.)
