well, it all started a few weeks back when i was trying to seek out some
information on the internet about a new salinger book. my search lead me to
the some sight that turned me on to this list. since then i've just been
reading what everone has had to say. i've always been kind of afraid of
computers and such, but going to a university far from my friends back home,
coupled with the desire to try to stay in touch without blowing all my money
on stamps, sort of made taking advantage of the free e-mail a necessity,
i've just been kind of easing into all this on-line stuff slowly. so this is
the first list i've subscribed to, and aside from thinking i have many more
important messages from my friends than i in fact do, i've enjoyed the being
on the list, and the discussion, especially in the last few days since we've
have gotten away from all the movie-talk. i read the catcher in the rye in
english class in my junior year of high school, and then read the rest of
the published books over the course of my senior year. i never sought out
the magazine material but now that i have access to the library here at the
university of texas, i probably will. at any rate, hi. how are you?
