Winboogie, I agree--assigning all Franny's woes to being pregnant takes too much out of the story to make it reach as deeply as it does to some of us. Franny's possible pregnancy would really remove the significance of her spirtual searching and honesty, things that are just too valuable for anyone to toss aside.
