I think it depends greatly on the ways in which age affects an 
individual...and actually, what you mean by age-bound.  "Catcher" means 
very different things to me now, at a ripe old 20 than it did at 
sixteen--but it means more than it did then, not less.

Your quoted author's assertation that "Catcher" is a Minor masterpiece 
provoked a defensiveness in me.  I wonder what he means by "minor".  
Anyone shed some light on that for me...?
