I have always believed this. Esme could be why Buddy didn't follow
Seymour's footsteps.
This is one of the reasons why I love working with children. They
have a power to see things so clearly, to reprioritize even the most
complex situations, and to convey so much love so purely. It's
magic. I will always be grateful for the children in my life, for
they have helped me time and time again remain a woman with all my
f-a-c-u-l-t-i-e-s intact, or at least most of them anyway.

I also wonder if being open to them isn't a key to this. see-more
had sybil, and he seemed to have great affection for her, but he
didn't let her innocence become contagious. I do think that
sometimes, we have that choice.
