When two people adopt diverse postiions with ideas and feelings, the
sparks shooting out start unpredictable fires. I can't say I've enjoyed
the tension and tone of some posts, but I do appreciate some of the
searching and twisting of text and faith. However, as I tried to point
out earlier, using Salinger texts as one's links to ideas may get more of
us involved...I'm trying to push the little idea across the page that for
the amount of religious passion his texts generate, there is a
relatively small amount of text in his work doing the work.
