Oh My God! Johnny the Homicidal Maniac here!??!!??
lol, I love that series. I met Jhonen Vasquez at the
San Diego Comic Con(along with Jason Mewes and Kevin
Smith aka Jay and Silent Bob) a few years back. He was
so cool in person. After standing in line waiting for
his autograph session, my friend and I took off to
look for him when he didn't show. We went to the slave
labor graphics table and there he was in all his black
leather glory, lol, listening to his walkmen with a
giant "Aliens" baby face hugger toy in his hand. no
one else showed up, so we had him all to ourselves. It
was almost like meeting J.D. Salinger. lol Anway, I
asked him all kinds of questions like how long it took
to do an issue(two months! from all the black ink)
etc.. etc.. then I had him autograph my entire series.
I was going to buy a shirt, but he was all sold out,
but then he took down the one display shirt(I know, I
know, he probably put another one up after I left lol)
and told me it's entire history. How it was the first
one off the press and it'd been with him to Europe and
back as a display prop. Needless to say, it hangs in
my room with pride. lol Have you seen his new comic "I
feel Sick", god it's so good. Much better than "Squee"
which was okay. So, he autographed my JTHM series,
Squee #1, and "The Bad Art Collection". Lol, I feel
like a comic geek now, thanks a lot! ;)
