Idea: Publishing Catcher Album

Greetings all,

Bernd Wahlbrinck suggested to me that it would be neat to have my CITR
photo album in book form. I like the idea because I could have the photos
in a nice size, not marred by jpeg compression, and in book form. I like
books: you can hold them. I think it'd make a nice little coffee table
book. I suppose I could get a few copies printed for myself and a few
Catcher fans and friends, but Bernd meant getting it published for real.
That certainly appeals to my vanity. Suzanne Morine: author. :o)

However, to go through the trouble to write to publishers, polish the
essays, as well as to think about how to present things in a book, etc., I
want some assurance that it wouldn't all be for nothing. So I put a poll on
my site: should I pursue getting the album published as a book. The
response has been lukewarm (both in numbers responding and that the
positive votes are winning only slightly).

Also, Bernd wrote something to the effect that there may be problems with
old Salinger opposing such a book. However, I tend to disagree. Salinger
seems to dislike people quoting his books and nosing into his life. Or does
it go beyond that? I don't know a lot about him. The album doesn't quote
the book or talk about anything very personal about Salinger.

Any opinions and observations here?

Suzanne
