It doesn’t take a five year course in mind-reading
to detect a hidden agenda of hurt in Suzanne’s post.
Whatever her underlying reason for walking out,
I think she’s being a little unkind to will, whose
domination of the list seems to me wholly benign.
But why walk out at all? I’ve only ever unsubscribed
from a couple of lists & that was because of extreme
boredom or because the contributions had virtually
dried up. Never in high dudgeon or with shrapnel
wounds. I couldn’t bear not to know what was going
on in my absence.
It’s only a mailing list, for Crissake: a new form of long
distance bridge or poker where the only thing you can
lose is a pile of Monopoly money. Not like brain surgery
or a hot afternoon in the Plaza de Toros.
