    Well, no, Cecilia. Master Schemmel has contracted that
    terrible obsessive/compulsive condition, salingeroid ventriloquism
    (where the writer has abandoned the use of his own voice for that
    of another) - a condition I've warned members about on numerous
    previous occasions.

    However.

    The hero of the story is described as wearing 'wing tips'.
    This is an item of clothing unknown as such to me, a Brit.
    Nonetheless, it appears intriguingly in various American TV
    sitcoms - notably my farandaway, alltime, knockout favourite,
    Frasier. It's driving me cuckoo.

    What, in the name of Jesus, are wing tips?
