Not only that, but quite often it's pretty much difficult (or takes a lot longer
and more patience) to tell someone's age, sex, sexual orientation, heritage,
color, religion, hygiene, marital status...whatever. I think that's one of the
reasons why cyberspace is so scary to some people, because if all you have to go
on is someone's knowledge, wisdom, humor or attitude it chucks previously
societally approved ways of attracting and being attracted to other souls out
the window. No wonder nice safe suburban parents are freaking out about the net.
Check your prejudices at the modem.

When I was a teenager I was more comfortable around 30somethings than my own
peers. And now that I'm in my mid-30s sometimes I feel more comfortable around
teenagers. So go figure.
