Well why didn't you just ask?

I suggest "Lake Wobegon Days" by Garrison Keillor. No this
is not a joke. He may not overtly emphasize any Nominally
Buddist principles, but he has an incredible way of making you
feel how human you are, and then showing you how small a
human is. He's like Salinger in that he can fill you up so
full of every emotion at once that you cry for lack of any other
response. He just uses a bit of a different style with which
to do it. Oh, and he's also similar to ol' J.D. in that he
published constantly with the New Yorker. Logisitics, perhaps,
but I am writing this on a computer.

If anyone has read any Keillor, please back me up on this. If
you haven't read any Keillor, then Now is the time to begin.
Start with "Lake Wobegon Days", and then read "WLT: A Radio
Romance", which isn't much of a romance at all, but a huge
sweep of a bunch of characters that you will love in moments.
If you're a real fan, you can try "We are Still Married," a book
of Stuff he published in the New Yorker and elsewhere. There's
some great stuff in there, but some very wierd stuff as well.
If anyone has read his new one "Wobegon Boy", then let me know
how it is...I haven't had a chance to pick it up yet.

OH...and of course...You can tune into his radio show, "A Prarie
Home Companion"...check www.mpr.com for your local time and station.
It's a lot of music and some silly skits, and then at the end
he gives beautiful monologues about Lake Wobegon. Not as good
as his writing, toned down a bit for the Public Radio audiences,
but worth the time.

WELL...I'll be on my way now. Cheers, all.
