It's also important to note that, according to S:AI, the Seymour Glass in
Bananafish is actually not so much Seymour Glass as it is Buddy. (He says so.)
So as for teh elevator incident...probably just Buddy's wishful thinking. Keep
in mind that since Buddy wrote this story it is the only peice of Buddy's that
is entirely fictional; whereas others are based on events he actually saw.
