by the way, is anybody here a fan of Beethoven's string quartets? i certainly am. don't you think Opus 135 has a lot to do with Seymour's motives for killing himself? Buddy talks about Opus 130 and 131, on aesthetic and spiritual grounds, but Opus 135's third movement, a really deep tragedy, is called "Der schwer gefasste Entschluss (the hard-won decision): Muss es sein? Es muss sein. (Must it be? It must be!), and that storm is followed by a lively, there's-hope-for-mankind ending (is the music major still with us? i'd love to hear her/him on this subject!) i hope someday dear old Ludwig is introduced to our little tagalong, wherever they spot the chance to have some drinks. THAT would be a conversation worth being present. diego
