Cornish, NH is 5 hours from NYC, I wouldn't recommend it. I live near Cornish
myself and can tell you that there's not much to it. It's just a sleepy town on
the Connecticut River populated with general stores, horse farms, and one very
elusive, out-of-sight writer, of whose privacy the locals are pretty protective
(for good reason). The local shopkeepers aren't going to give directions to his
house, in other words. That's why he likes it around here, I imagine.

In New York--just walk around Manhattan and you'll feel like you're about to
see Holden in his hunting hat. Maybe some New Yorkers can give you more
specific locations, but I know that the first time I was ever in New York I had
this strange Holden-ish feeling.

I know we debated this already about the Glasses, but does anyone remember
where in Manhattan the Caulfield's apartment was? I forget...

Elli: Have a nice trip!
