The knack of translation has made or broken many a fine poet. The
trickiest of all translations has to be the Haiku world, seeing as how we
already lose half the meaning because we don't have the double-meaning of
the symbol/letter for every word.
I've been trying to get a copy of French Rilke to translate, for myself,
to both educate myself in french and in Rilke's subtlety. Unfortunately,
I've only got the damned German stuff.
