Val,
You know what would be interesting? If Salinger was actually a bananafish
himself and had somehow infiltrated discussions and such just to be elusive
and zany.

Pete.

Pete is posing a very well known thought here, but i just can't seem to get my finger
on it's name though ... Anyone? Old guys?
Anyway, it's in my mind in the same league as 'when God still walked the earth' etc.

In a post apocalypse story i read, (was it by Auster? can't remember) all kind of consumer goods
is being instantaneously copied by the "Red Cross" ET's, because all the factories went 'boom!'.
And a common joke amongst the people of that time is "hey maybe it's the original!"

Z.
ps Does this make sense? Guess not ... *sigh*
ps to stay with the subject (line) i'm reading "the butcher boy"
z.
