I tend to agree with you, Josh, and those are along the lines of my
first thoughts when I read the question. An epiphany tends to impart
special knowledge...it's a revelation of sorts. A holy moment seems
more like an awareness of the divine, as if God stood up and said,
"Look, I'm here too." Perhaps, to Salinger, there's no substantial
difference. Franny really seemed to have an epiphany at the end of
"Franny." But there seems to be a difference at other times...
