I'm not exactly sure what sort of impact this will
have on myself, since I have never been one to peruse
the more esoteric subtleties of certain authors and
works. All that I know about the MLA is that certain
schools, including all of the ones I have attended,
require "MLA Format" for all papers to be turned in as
assignments. The MLA sells a book containing the
details of the "MLA Format," but for a bit of a price.
This article was certainly educating for me, as since
it enlightened me to the more specific happenings of
what exactly goes on in that organization. I had
always assumed that they were some sort of panel of
lingual experts that had intelligent discussions about
correct grammar and punctuation. Ah, another childhood
myth shattered.
