What about, say, The whole is greater than the part? Or, If one thing is
the same as another, and the second is the same in the same respect as some
third thing, then in that respect the first is also the same as the third?

Is it incorrect to call these the results of common sense? (In the
mathematical context I've snatched them from -- though they by no means must
be considered mathematical -- they are accepted on the basis of being
"Common Notions.")

Or is the "common sense" you're talking about a more strictly
socially-concerned sort?
