Well, yeah.  You know all those John Grisham lawyer novels?  I've found they
make much better movies than books.  Ummm... I haven't read _The Godfather_
but I think people seem to like the movie.  I could go on but I know what
your point was.  A movie made from _Catcher in the Rye_ would be
disappointing.  I agree, it would.  I still wanna see it.  I know that it
won't happen.

Since we're on the subject, one of my favorite books, _Ender's Game_ is being
made into a movie.  I was encouraged to learn that the original author has a
LOT of control over the production and all that but then I learned that there
were LOTS of things that are vitally important to the effectiveness of the
story that the makers are saying would be impossibly to do on film (such as,
in the book the main characters are all young children from about age 9 to
15... the movie people are going to use actors that are in their mid-20s).

Anyway, I'm SURE I'm going to be incredibly disappointed in the movie but I'm
STILL looking forward to it.
