I don't Hate it at all - I'd Hate myself more if I didn't allow other
people their opinions. It just surprises me, that's all. I've always
considered Adams' books to be more virtuoso than emotive - as I think he'd
consider them himself. On the other hand, I was tremendously moved by his
non-fiction book `Last Chance to See', but that's really a different kettle
of dolphins. Kudos to you anyway - there's no point giving the answer that
everyone expects (e.g. 42 (: )

May I ask what specific parts of the trilogy moved you? Or alternatively,
what parts of Salinger didn't move you?
