I think this manifests itself in song lyrics. Sometimes I get disappointed
when I finally read the `real' lyrics because the personally tailored
version of the song I had in my head instantly falls away.

Vive la misreading!!! Sometimes - a lot of the time - it's better than
reading things properly!

P.S. Have you got a copy of that story? It sounds like a real corker!
