The last time Will and I got together at that fateful corner, I was
on time and eager for lunch, and walking down the stairs at work,
when a step, and my ankle, gave way, and I landed in a smoldering
heap on the concrete landing. I made it to meet Will, but when I
told him what had happened, he insisted on helping me to the medic,
where they found I had a broken ankle. I was on the DL for all of
August and most of September, getting through that stifling summer in
a large cast, and Will taught his summer class but I was not on the
premises again to meet him.

I hope we have better luck this summer.

I'd be happy to meet early in the summer and also late in the summer.
Especially if we have a baseball rivalry heating up. I will pull my
old Brooklyn Dodgers hat out from mothballs for such a meeting at the
ballfield. (I don't plan to wear Red Sox gear, as an obnoxious
Boston friend of mine once did in Yankee Stadium ... we somehow made
it out alive.)

Will, just name the day you finally settle upon, and I'll be there.
And if we get a larger community later in the summer, when the Blue
Jays are in our trees here in New York, well, I'd be there for that,
too. I haven't been to Yankee Stadium all this year or last.

The better-late-than-never Tim....
