I guess the question I'd have to ask is...what leads readers to make their
choices? I think in some respect everything comes back to the author one
way or another.
On the one hand, Salinger has about ZERO influence, by choice, on how his
work is received and understood. Yet it is still appreciated by
millions...because of the writing.
