Apparently.

Well, I guess I started this, so I'll fine myself 50 francs (an
off-topic reference to a certain movie JDS may or may not have
seen).

And I'll apologize for whipping people into a frenzy about politics
(though I believe that a group of people who fancy themselves readers
and writers and thinkers and teachers ought to be concerned about the
potential damage when people can poke around your bookstore and
library activities).

So, while I don't apologize for raising what I think are relevant
concerns for those of us in the U.S., I regret getting everyone all
out of kilter.

And I don't apologize at all for taking up the topic of Hemingway,
because I think that a little discussion of contrast about another
writer has been healthy -- it and the Joyce discussions have stirred
up quite a bit of back-and-forth.

But soon I take leave of a connection for a few days, so please don't
kill each other.

OK?
