Subject: Introduction of myself/question about Laughing Man

Hello, subscribers to this list. I am not sure exactly what I am getting
myself into here by signing up for this list, but I have a good deal of
questions about J.D. Salinger's work that no one I know can answer for me. I
mean, they probably aren't extremely complex questions or anything, but
still, it's not like my dad would be able to answer them for me. Like,
here's an example: In the laughing man, do you think the Chief has
impregnated Mary and that's why they are breaking up? I mean, there is all
that baby-carriage imagery. Mary is sitting there wedged between two baby
carriages, and then the narrator later bumps into a carriage as he is walking
backward. Maybe my questions are juvenile or whatever, but I have never
studied any of Salinger's works so I just need help with the basic stuff like
that first, and then maybe I can delve into deeper things. So, yeah, give me
your ideas on the baby carriage. If you want to know more about me, I live
in Florida but attend Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia.
It's a tiny school, and you have probably never heard of it, but it's quite
nice actually. Ok, that's all for now. Thanks for letting me join this
