I don't think it could've been earlier than 98, but yes, I recall the
Matrix/Baudrillard discussion. Three or four frames from the
movie that lingered on the hollowed-out Baudrillard text (an empty
book by Baudrillard...an interesting moment itself, I suppose). If it'd
been a P. T. Anderson movie, there would have been an extra on a sidewalk
somewhere wearing a t-shirt with actual suggested page numbers. The
Matrix makers were a bit more subtle, at least for a stretch.
The PMLA news is wonderful. A second read! Congratulations. When can
the rest of us have a look?
