heh...Matt K, raised from the dead :).

I don't know if you remember, Matt, but back around 96 when the movie
The Matrix came out you asked me if I had read Baudrillard. At least
I'm pretty sure it was you. I hadn't. I read him later, though, and
wrote a little piece about the movie interpreting it through the lens of
Baudrillard. Then I took a grad seminar in literary theory and expanded
the little piece to something more formal. Then I revised the expanded
piece and submitted it to PMLA, who just informed me it's going on to a
second read :).

So while it probably won't get published (that's a pipe dream of mine,
but it still does have a chance technically), at least it's getting a
good reading and I'm sure I'll be able to revise for publication
elsewhere and turn in a very respectable paper :).

All cause of you, Matt K, I'm pretty sure :).
