it's time for another fleck, with you-know-who in the
shoes of mr. hogan.

as for sheer dominance: it's become boring. it's us
vs. iraq.

but seriously. the woods' story has two ways to go.
one: he continues to dominate. and tries to equal
hogan's triple; tries to accomplish the true grand
slam; tries to best jack's 18. maybe he does all of
this, and ends up with 25 majors.

or, more interesting, at least to me: he falls into a
slump (i.e., doesn't win a major for 4 or 5 years. is
written off. and then comes charging back with victory
after victory. or becomes seriously injured. (shades
of a car-wreck.) and comes back and is dominant.
maybe wins the triple then.

but to win 1 or 2 majors a year for the next dozen is
a snooze.

at least SOMEONE--annika, perhaps--has got to go face
to face with him and beat him. at least to make it
interesting. (to me.)

i still think jones in his prime, hogan in his prime,
nicklaus in his prime, and woods in his: a dozen
tournaments would end with 3 victories apiece.
