I was hoping you'd do that. Thank you very, very much, Robbie. I
wasn't sure at first glance (of the French alone -- all I can do is pick
up a couple words by inference) that Scottie wasn't using the
opportunity for a nice little jibe, or really writing a poem.

Looks like he really wrote a poem...

Translating poetry has to be one of the most difficult things to do.
Valerie's input was good and it very much helps that Scottie explained
what he was shooting for. I think "stretches" in relationship to a cat
does make sense. When my wife's cat isn't sleeping or eating, it
usually stretches out on the floor while anticipating its next move.

What's I'd really like now is an audio file of Valerie reading the poem
in French :). There's nothing quite like French poetry for the sheer
sound of it.
