one more melting kitty

I was thinking of George and his dictionaryless life and you Scottie, I
realized you could have met him, and you both grew up in the heyday when
people still thought of French as a Lingua Franca, oh well, those childhood
influences have long talons. Now back to the neglect of your gem, it seems
to be a matter of knowing your audience and it seems Robbie took the bullet.
Thinking of lingua-francas now, I would suppose between English and Spanish
you could talk to a good chunk of the world, throw in Arabic and all the
continents would be covered, thankfully China and India have a handle on
English.

That was a dirty trick, trying to force me to buy a French dictionary or
worse yet check one out from the library with the resulting government
documentation. All along I have been laboring (sorry labouring) under the
assumption that we too were allies, with Ruth's words echoing in my head,
"...let your people be my people, let...".
