Yes, of course. I wasn't suggesting adding Tom (or Joni or Bob or Donald
Fagen, even) to the canon. It is indeed apples and Lucky Strikes. I was just
listing him as one of the poets that, as you said, I was "passionate about."

I'm not really too concerned about who's in or out of the canon anyway, at
this point, since I get to teach whatever I want.
