I hope this question was not meant to be as ignorant as it sounds.
Whoever wrote this needs to go out and read Franny. I believe Franny is
in a similar position to Holden. She feels that because everyone else
around her is phony that she is odd for not being so and the "feelings"
happen when the individual compromises out of innocence and intimidation
(like we all do at one point or another) and section man stuff like
that.
Also this guy should think about how could a man ever understand the
feelings of Franny and her dumb section man boyfriend sneaking into her
house and probably trying to get in her pants on their weekend together.
(Sorry if this sounds angry but this question has riled me up. Well I
hope my ramblings have given an answer and helped.

PS to all this U2 Crap I think you should go out and buy a Pearl Jam
album! I don't think they have sold out yet?
