It's nice to hear that you like the Madison Smartt Bell book, but ...

... I didn't want to give anyone the impression that I dislike textbooks;
rather, I regret that this particular book was categorized as a textbook,
because that makes it harder to find a copy. On the positive side, it
means that the Norton sales force will be peddling it to teachers, which
will help it trickle into the mainstream.
