i just saw a recent picture of jds in an issue of entertainment weekly. they
had an article on pynchon and a little sub-article on reclusive articles. they
compared pynchon, salinger and some other guy i've never even heard of (his name
started with a "d"). they called pynchon's _V_ the bible for hippies, _CITR_
the bible for teens, and that other guy's book the bible for yuppies. they
rated each authors reclusiveness on a scale of 1 to 10--pynchon got an eight, i
don't remember what the other guy got, jds got a 10 and the editorial comment
that he wrote the book on reclusiveness.--matt
