I live just up the I-5. When is the service? I've got gawking in my
blood.
On Faulkner, the best of the best is "absalom, absalom." Not only his
(faulkner's) best but it gets my vote for the "great American novel". To
do it right, pick up a copy of the Old Testament and read the story of
David and Absalom in II Samuel 14:1 through 18:33. This is the coolest
biblical tale going and it is excellent background to Faulkner's
definative work. Other good ones include, "Light in August" , "Go Down
Moses" and "The Unvanquished". Of what I've read, these stand out.
