at Southern Connecticut State U because I like the Eng Fac there and want
to live close to the ocean. All of my offers were generous, and my old
gig at the U of southern colorado as a tenured associate prof of CW was
sweet, but I see a lot of writing and learning action among first year
students and want to be part of it--go ahead, tell me I'm nuts, I'll

I've been to Colorado and DO NOT think you're nuts for snapping at the chance
to live near the coast in Connecticut :) Colorado can have a severe beauty,
but it's hard for me to imagine wanting to live anywhere but the prettier
parts of the Northeast right now. Or the CA coast.

And if you love the work, I mean, Love the work...and the people you're
working with...good lord, you can't trade that for anything :)
