well maybe if you think jd's work *stops* at 'catcher'.

personally, i think if the vault eventually is opened, and 'hapworth' is
discovered to exist, not at the end, but only half way--say, about the point
of 'the guermantes way'--then, in the 22nd century, jd will be known, i'm
sorry to say, not for holden and esme, but, yes, emphatically, as the author
of the glorious glass saga.
