that Franz Kafka's sisters
didn't got to Auschwitz and neither was named

Three of his sisters did perish in Nazi concentration camps though.
The Trial written somewhere around 1914, I think, is such a
prophecy/parable for the rest of the twentieth century and maybe beyond.

The American Library Association chose "To Kill a Mockingbird" as best 20th
century American novel. I think the Trial could stand as best 20th Century
novel of planet earth. It has the huge universal themes as well as the
literary qualities. I also like the Castle, but it's themes aren't quite as
large and having no ending hurts it's candidacy.

The true way is along a rope that is not spanned high in the air, but only
just above the ground. It seems intended more to cause stumbling than to be
walked along ------------------------------ K.
