Cecilia:
"And this also goes under the heading of forgetting everything, but I
seem to recall that you are in Washington. Did you feel yesterday's
earthquake? I hope everything's fine."

It shook the hell out our office building for about half a minute,
so it was hard to miss. It was a strange experience. It went long
enough for you wonder all sorts of things, like whether you really
ought to be running through the halls in a demented panic rather
than just standing there in the doorway. But aside from the scare,
most everything is intact. At my house in Seattle, damage was limited
to a few fallen wine glasses, and my wife insists that the gap
between our backdoor and its frame is wider than before.

You can actually see what the shaking looked like here at MSFT from
the "Microsoft Webcam" video at http://www.msnbc.com/news/537290.asp.
